Fill in the Blanks Exam

One of the most dreaded types of exams would have to be the fill in the blanks exams. Like the multiple choice exams, fill in the blanks are very objective. The difference, of course, is that fill in the blanks examinations require more than a bit more memory work because often, even the spelling is taken into account (although leeway is made for synonymous terms). Still, provided that you have studied properly and provided that you have actively participated in discussions or lessons related to the topic and question, then you are surely more than capable of handling this type of exam.

Fill in the blanks exams include simple blank filling - that is to say, you are required to complete a statement, or answer a question by writing the correct answer in the blank. Another type of fill in the blank exam is the enumeration or listing, where you are asked to list down a number of items that are related to the question (e.g. five of the capitals of Latin America).

A third type, which could technically be categorized under multiple choice, is the modified true or false - this is where you would, upon answering false, provide the correct term or phrase that would correct the statement.

The best way to handle these exams is to use memory tricks. Mnemonic devices, amusing little ditties, anything that works for you. Writing details down repeatedly or reading them out load to yourself are also proven methods of ingraining the little associated facts into your mind.
